ATC’s intensive peak fitness trainer course is programmed to maximise learning and ensure you qualify as a group fitness and personal trainer coupled with the skills and knowledge to start and run your own business.

Peak Fitness combines two nationally accredited qualifications to increase and maximise learning and ensure you are equipped with the necessary knowledge and competencies required to work in the fitness industry.

This course is delivered over an 18-week period including 70 hours of work experience and practical assessments.
Dates: 13th November 2023 – 1st March 2024

The course is delivered through attending class in Homebush or can be completed online through ATC’s online custom-built Learnbook. It is conducted in a group scenario/setting at our Training Centre.
Due to the intensive nature of this course, there is limited availability to engage in catch-up lessons.
Work Placement
Work Placement
To complete the Peak Fitness Trainer course, each learner is required to undertake a minimum of 70 hours of work placement in the industry. (30 hours for Certificate III and 40 hours for Certificate IV) throughout the duration of the program.
ATC staff and trainers will guide you through the process of securing work placement however you will need to find a suitable facility and communicate with the management. Working With Children checks may also be a requirement of the host gym if you are working with people under the age of 18 years.
While you are an enrolled student with ATC all work placement is covered by ATC insurance.

If you already hold a current First Aid certificate you will be required to provide ATC with a copy of this certificate.
If you do not hold a current First Aid certificate it will be delivered as part of the course. A date to complete this portion will be organised after enrolments are finalised and scheduled outside the Peak Fitness class schedule.

What is Peak Fitness?
Peak Fitness is an intensive training course that combines two nationally accredited qualifications aimed at qualifying the person who completes it to work as a gym instructor, group fitness instructor or Personal Trainer.

What is the minimum age?
Students must be 16 years old to commence the course. Students under 18 years of age will need parental consent to participate.
Do I need to do work experience?
Yes. Work placement is compulsory. A total of 70 hours work placement in a gym is required.
Students should secure their own placement. ATC will provide copies of insurances and other information needed. If the student needs assistance to approach a gym to take them for work placement we can assist but the student should practice approaching people with such a request.
