Australian Training Company (ATC) has partnered with The Department of Trade, Employment and Training (DETET) to deliver a tailored Group Training Organisation Pre-Apprenticeship Program. This Program offers a pathway into rewarding careers with ongoing support for securing long-term employment.
This program provides opportunities for:
- Women
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
- Culturally and linguistically diverse people
- People who have barriers to employment
About the Program:
This 8-week program, commencing on 20th January 2025, includes a 4-week work trial, provides a solid foundation in construction skills, setting you up for a pathway into a Construction Apprenticeship. Earn while you learn and launch your career in construction!
What You Will Be Doing:
- Introduction to Construction – Gain essential knowledge about the construction industry, including its roles, responsibilities, and career pathways.
- Hands-On Training – Participate in practical training sessions covering basic construction skills, including site safety, tool usage, and materials handling.
- Earn While You Learn – working Monday to Friday (38-hour weeks) over the 8-week Program
- Safety Awareness – Understand workplace health and safety protocols, ensuring you are equipped to work safely in various environments.
- Teamwork and Communication – Develop essential teamwork and communication skills necessary for successful collaboration on construction sites.
- 4 Week Work Experience – Get the opportunity to participate in a real-world work experience placement, allowing you to apply your skills in a practical setting.
Who We Are Looking For:
- Enthusiastic and committed individuals with a keen interest in pursuing a career in construction.
- A willingness to learn and a positive attitude towards gaining new skills.
- No prior experience is necessary, but a passion for hands-on work is essential.
- Not currently in school or in an apprenticeship or traineeship.
- Do not previously hold a Certificate I Construction
- Are an Australian citizen, or a New Zealand citizen, or hold an eligible visa
