Duties

  • Plant trees and shrubs

  • Undertake thinning and tree surgery using a range of equipment

  • Carry out groundwork using a chainsaw and a chipper

  • Select plants and design landscaping schemes

  • Apply knowledge of tree biology for effective tree maintenance

  • Follow and negotiate clients’ requirements

  • Carry out groundwork using a chainsaw and a chipper

  • Manage tree care and tree-planting contracts

Arborists/Tree Surgeons are tree specialists learning all aspects of pruning, maintaining and removal of trees. Arborists climb trees using ropes, rigging and harnesses to prune and shape branches with hand saws and chainsaws, stump removal, using chipper and earth moving equipment.
