Duties
Identifying problems in engines and systems
Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts
Diagnose and repair: exhaust systems, clutch systems, ignition systems, charging systems and braking systems
Reassembling mechanical components
Performing scheduled maintenance services
Mechanics perform maintenance repairs and routine servicing. They are often separated into three classes based on the type of machines they work on; lightweight (passenger motor cars), heavy vehicle (commercial diesel trucks) and plant mechanic (plant and earthmoving equipment).
